Rental income pays for the mansion's utilities, insurance, lawn care and security, so donations can go to the restoration.

Common questions
How much does it cost to rent the mansion?
$125 covers up to 4 hours. After that it is $25 for each additional hour. The Foundation confirms your rate when they call you back.
How many guests can we have?
The mansion has tables and seating for 50. For a larger group, ask about using the grounds too.
Is there a kitchen?
Yes. The full kitchen has two new four-burner electric ranges and a new refrigerator.
Where do guests park?
There is an expanded south parking lot and a west lot connected by a driveway, with a new sidewalk to the front west entrance.
Can we see the house before we book?
Yes. When we call you back, ask to schedule a walk-through of the rooms and grounds.
Is my date reserved when I send the form?
Not yet. Your date is held once the Foundation confirms it with you by phone.
The story
Saved by its community
Built in 1856 and later the summer home of General William S. Harney, the house stood empty for decades until the community stepped in. The Harney Mansion Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, keeps restoring it: six new windows in the 1856 section, new mahogany doors on the east and west entrances and new floors upstairs.
Look for General Harney's ceremonial sword in the entrance hall, and his military trunk, recently brought home to Sullivan.
